Yes, the photo at the top of the blog is a "simple as anything" citronella lantern. It's made from a Mason jar and a length of wicking. Nobody needs Pinterest for this shit. Drill a hole in a lid flat. Poke some lamp wicking up through it. Put citronella oil in a jar. Screw it all together. Wash your hands. Apply fire.
Seriously, though. When it comes to mosquito control, Jack and I have found that letting our local spider population do their thing is as effective in enhancing our porch "bug protection" as anything, but when they need supplementation during this time of year, these citronella lanterns are perfect.
