Still somewhat exhausted with the idea of collars and buttonholes, I selected a more simple design with an elasticized prairie neck and two-tier gathered skirt with a sash-tie back for additional fit around the waist.
The fabric was ridiculously inexpensive from the clearance table at Hancock's, and while the print is slightly off-grain, it is very soft and comfortable, and with forgiving design of the dress, the rows of cats aren't noticeably crooked.
With cooler weather quickly approaching, I thought a coordinating scarf might be a nice accessory, and because homemade bias tape is currently my favorite thing, I tried out my binding foot to make one.
Once I figured out what I was doing with the foot, the scarf was finished in less than fifteen minutes and looks perfect with the dress.
I may do something else to those sleeves, because they still don't look quite finished.
